Got inspired recently to work on some new lino / block cuts. I was delivered a fresh sample box of marmoleum at work, so I took some home with me and got really obsessed with carving blocks for three days. I got sick of having to change blades so may times on the lino, so I switched to a speed block that cuts like buttah! What an awesome way to spend another arctic winter day inside. Hopefully the motivation will come soon to make some new linen napkins and a little blanket for our favorite baby and these can actually be put to some good use. Until then, I’ve just been stamping some napkins from our wedding and old hankies I had hanging around…
first pass at the whale block:
used Dad’s trusty (more like rusty, and dull) old saw to cut a wood block to mount the lino to:

Christmastime is the b e s t time to make things! I’ve been so happy bustling around making these wood and bead ornaments and listening to Christmas tunes.
Dad helped me hunt down a Christmas tree in the woods last weekend, and he snatched up this little Princess Pine and gave it to me. I found this tiny bottle while we were out there too. What a perfectly awesome table trimming!
I’ve dressed up the new PIGBOARDS also, so they are very festive with their ribbons…
Merry Christmas + happy holidays to everyone
